We had a great time last night at the Green Meets event at The Larder. Terrific turnout, lots of new faces, interesting folks. I’m so happy Janice and JB got this going — looking forward to the next one!
Met a new green architect; chatted with a few more we already know and love; reconnected with old friends who’ve started an organic farm (Dragonfly Farms) and are selling to area stores and restaurants; welcomed Ruth from a local garden club–she’s arranging to show An Inconvenient Truth at the Coastal Branch Library in March; and generally grooved on how well this event brought out so many people who would probably never go to an official meeting, lecture, etc.
That’s the whole beauty of this Green Drinks approach to bringing green-minded folks together. See http://www.greendrinks.org for more info on the concept. No structure, no rules, no dues, no need to register as 501C3 and file annually with the powers that be, etc. Just show up and enjoy the benefits of connecting with others in the community who share your interests in green, sustainable, healthy approach to life.
This is a group blog written by individuals that are concerned and interested in the future sustainability of South Walton County, Florida and are dedicated to creating a relocalization movement in our area.

Hey, thanks for setting this up, and helping Janice and JB get the word out! We’ll be there.
